Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. Here's how we protect your information.

Last updated: October 1, 2026.

We recognize that you may be concerned about our use and disclosure of your personal information. Your privacy is very important to us, and the following will inform you of the information that we, True Comfort, doing business as True Comfort Heating, Cooling and Plumbing (“True Comfort,” “we,” “us”), may collect from you, and how it is used. By using our website, you are accepting the practices described in this policy.

Information Collection

We may collect non-personal information, such as a domain name and IP Address. The domain name and IP address reveal nothing personal about you other than the IP address from which you have accessed our site. We may also collect information about the type of Internet browser you are using, the operating system, what brought you to our Website, as well as which of our Web pages you have accessed.

Additionally, if you communicate with us regarding our Website or our services, we will collect any information that you provide to us in any such communication.

We may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Information Use

We use the collected information primarily for our own internal purposes, such as providing, maintaining, evaluating, and improving our services and Website, fulfilling requests for information, and providing customer support.

Security

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it.

This site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. You can verify this by looking for the lock icon in your browser or "https" at the beginning of the web address.

Payment Security

This website never collects or stores payment card information. No page on this site asks for a card number, expiration date, or security code. Financing applications are completed on our financing partner’s own secure website (Synchrony), which is governed by that partner’s privacy policy. Payment for service is handled at the time of service through our payment processor — card details are entered on the processor’s secure terminal or hosted payment page, not on this website. If you ever see a page claiming to be ours that asks for card details, do not enter them and call us at 515-444-9154.

While we use encryption to protect information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Cookies

We use "cookies" on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site. You can change your choice at any time: clear this site's data in your browser and the cookie notice will appear again on your next visit.

Cookies set even if you choose Decline. A few cookies are needed for the site and its built-in tools to work, so they are set whatever you choose in the cookie notice:

  • Your cookie choice — a first-party record of whether you chose Accept or Decline, so we do not ask again on every page.
  • Call tracking (WhatConverts, wc_* cookies) — remembers which phone number the site showed you, so the number stays the same while you browse and a call can be matched to the page it came from.
  • Live chat (NextivaCX, nextiva-identification) — keeps an open chat conversation connected as you move between pages.
  • Security (Cloudflare, __cf_bm) — tells real visitors apart from automated traffic. It holds no personal details and expires after 30 minutes.
  • Google measurement cookies (_gcl_au, test_cookie) — Google's advertising tags may set these before you make a choice. If you choose Decline or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, Google is told not to use them for ads personalization or measurement.

Sharing

We will not sell or otherwise provide the information we collect to outside third parties for the purpose of direct or indirect mass email marketing.

We will disclose personal information and/or an IP address, when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • Cooperate with the investigations of purported unlawful activities and conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on our company
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of our Website and related properties
  • Identify persons who may be violating the law, the rights of third parties, or otherwise misusing our Website or its related properties

Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online — for example through e-mail, discussion boards, or elsewhere that information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.

Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your personal information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are online.

Texting opt-in information is not shared with any third parties.

Links

This Website may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.

Surveys & Contests

From time to time, our site may request information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for the purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

Text Message Compliance

We value your privacy and are dedicated to ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and industry standards concerning text messaging. This section details our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of your personal information in connection with our SMS communications.

Consent

Before sending any text messages, we obtain your explicit consent to receive such communications. By providing your mobile number and opting in to our SMS program, you agree to receive text messages related to our services, promotions, or updates. You may opt out at any time by following the instructions provided in each message or by contacting us directly.

Opt-Out

You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time. To unsubscribe, follow the instructions provided in the message (e.g., replying "STOP") or contact us directly using the contact information provided in our Privacy Policy. Once you opt out, you will no longer receive SMS communications from us, except for transactional or service-related messages required to complete ongoing requests or obligations.

Information Collection and Use

When you opt in to receive text messages from us, we collect your mobile number and any other information you provide. This information is used solely for the purpose of sending you the requested SMS communications. We do not share, sell, or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Choices

Every control you have over your personal information with True Comfort Heating, Cooling and Plumbing, in one place. These choices are available to any visitor who asks, regardless of where you live.

  • Cookies and analytics. Choose Decline in the cookie notice shown on your first visit. Your choice is remembered and re-applied whenever you return; to change it, clear this site's data in your browser and the notice will appear again.
  • Global Privacy Control. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal automatically: when your browser or a browser extension sends GPC, optional analytics and advertising cookies stay off with no further action from you.
  • Text messages. Reply STOP to any text to opt out immediately (see Text Message Compliance above).
  • Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or ask us to remove you at [email protected].

Your California Privacy Rights — Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We are an Iowa heating, cooling, and plumbing company serving the Greater Des Moines Area and we do not market to California residents. If you are a California resident who visits this site, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) may give you the rights below, and we honor them for everyone who asks.

Categories of personal information we collect on this website: identifiers and contact details (name, phone number, email address, and service address) that you submit through our forms, the online scheduler, or by phone or text; and internet and device activity (pages viewed, referral source, approximate location, device and browser type, and pseudonymous identifiers) collected by website analytics and advertising measurement tools when you allow optional cookies. We do not collect biometric data or precise geolocation, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Tools we use on this website (the only third-party services that run on our pages):

  • Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 — website analytics and advertising measurement. These set the optional cookies controlled by the cookie notice and Global Privacy Control described above.
  • WhatConverts — call tracking and form attribution. It may display a different phone number depending on how you reached our site so we know which ads and listings work, and it records which page a call or form came from.
  • ServiceTitan online scheduler — the “Book Now” booking window. Details you enter there go to our field-service software to create your appointment.
  • NextivaCX live chat — the chat window provided by our phone-system vendor. Chat messages are handled under that vendor’s privacy policy, which is linked inside the chat window.
  • Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise — spam protection on our contact and careers forms (subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service).
  • Google Maps and Google Fonts — the map in our site footer and the typefaces used across the site.
  • Website optimization (SearchAtlas) — a search-optimization script managed by our web agency that adjusts page content; it records the page address visited.
  • Cloudflare — our hosting and content-delivery network, which processes IP addresses to serve pages and block abuse.

Selling and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. Like most businesses that use analytics and advertising measurement cookies, our use of those tools may be considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. You have the right to opt out of that sharing.

Your rights:

  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing. Choose Decline in our cookie notice, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser — either one stops the optional analytics and advertising tools from using your data, with no account and no request form needed. You may also email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information,” or call 515-444-9154, and we will apply your opt-out request.
  • Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it, and who we share it with.
  • Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for warranty, licensing, or tax purposes).
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CPRA, so there is nothing to limit; if that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide a way to limit its use.
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.

How to submit a request: email [email protected] or call 515-444-9154. We will verify your identity by matching the details you provide against our records, respond within 45 days, and let you know if we need more time. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission.

Consent

By using this Website, you consent to the collection and use of information as specified above. If we make changes to our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page. Please review this page frequently to remain up-to-date with the information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. You must review the new Privacy Policy carefully to make sure you understand our practices and procedures.

If you feel that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact us immediately via telephone or email.
